Spravato Treatment
FDA-approved esketamine nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression
What is Spravato?
Spravato (esketamine) is an FDA-approved nasal spray that offers new hope for adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) or major depressive disorder with suicidal thoughts. Unlike traditional antidepressants that can take weeks to work, many patients experience improvement within hours or days.
FDA-Approved
Rigorously tested and approved by the FDA for treatment-resistant depression since 2019.
Rapid Relief
Many patients notice improvement within hours or days, not weeks like traditional antidepressants.
Supervised Care
Administered in our certified treatment center under the care of experienced professionals.
How Spravato Treatment Works
Spravato is only available through a certified healthcare setting under the REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) program. Here's what the treatment process looks like:
Initial Evaluation
We'll conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to determine if Spravato is right for you. This includes reviewing your treatment history and current medications.
Insurance Authorization
Our team handles the prior authorization process with your insurance. Many major insurance plans cover Spravato treatment.
Treatment Sessions
You'll self-administer the nasal spray in our office under supervision. Sessions take about 2 hours, including a required monitoring period afterward.
Ongoing Care
Treatment typically starts twice weekly for the first month, then weekly, and eventually once every 1-2 weeks for maintenance.
Who Can Benefit from Spravato?
Spravato is specifically designed for adults who haven't found relief from traditional antidepressants.
Treatment-Resistant Depression
For those who have tried at least two antidepressants without adequate improvement.
